Out of the mouths of babes.......

This was the conversation Aubree and I had the other day......

Aubree: "Mom what's that on your face?"

Mom: " Oh, honey that's what you call a zit."

Aubree: "Mom, you were so pretty before you got a zit!"

Mom:  "Thanks" (I think, not quite sure how to answer this....)

Night at the museum

The 4th graders at our school work really hard learing about different people from the state of Washington. This research project last about a month.  The kids have to research information, write a paper, write a speech, and make a poster.   Madellyn was assigned Helen Thayer.  (I had never heard of her before!)  Helen Thayer was the 1st woman in the world to travel on foot to the magnetic North Pole.  I was so proud of Madellyn and the amount of time she spent working on this project every single night!
The final step of all their hard work is the "Wax Museum".  The kids all come dressed as their person they were assigned and then we get to wander through the "museum" to see and hear all about these people!  It's a pretty impressive night!

Poor Madellyn was so toasty in her costume!!
This is how she looked when we left the house......

Halfway through the evening she no longer had the coat.......

By the end of the evening she was down to just the snow pants!

Way to go Madellyn, all your hard work paid off!  You did a fantastic job!!

Let the show begin!

For the 2nd grade "Save the Plants" play this year Dallin got to be Sir Field Mouse. He did an awesome job memorizing his lines, and the words to all the songs!  Way to go Dallin!

Isn't he a cute mouse?!

This is the second year now that we have gotten to see the play...and it was just as cute the second time around!

It's a runners World!

This Handsome fellow was a track star in high school!

Of course my kids think he is the GREATEST because he has so many medals and trophies!

Look at all these....why wouldn't they be impressed?

But wait it gets better.....

Bill saved his track pants from high school. So of course we all requested that he trys them on!

And so after much convincing here came "Mr. Fancy Pants" himself! (That's the name Aubree gave him!)

And guess what he stil runs fast too!

(I really think the pants increased his speed!)
